I know that “elephant seals are faster than you think they are” just means “if you think elephant seals are slow, you’re wrong”, but, like, what if that was prescriptive rather than descriptive?
Like, elephant seals are axiomatically faster than you think they are. No matter how fast you think an elephant seal is, it’s faster.
