DRAWLLOWEEN 2016 – TRICK-OR-TREAT

Surprisingly, when I warned I was posting Undertale spoilers, this time I didn’t choose to focus on my favorite character from the game!

So for this Drawlloween image I went with the theme Trick-or-Treat, and focused mainly on Chara. Regardless of one’s opinion on the character, I think we can all agree that they fit the more intense vibes of the Halloween atmosphere. I actually really like Chara myself, and they’re in my general top favorite characters from the game. (Although none of my general top favorites even remotely come close to my actual favorite in how much I like them.) I think Chara’s completely opposite nature from Frisk is utterly fascinating, and they’re arguably one of the most interpretational characters of the story, making it really interesting to see what various people have to say about the character, you know? (I’d also say W. D. Gaster is another huge enigma though / great content for theoretical shenanigans as well. I was considering drawing Gaster given that the formal royal scientist has some wonderfully creepy vibes going on as well but, when it comes down to it I just personally like Chara more. *shrugs*) But basically, Chara is the “trick” of this theme, with Frisk being the “treat.” Since Chara’s actually the focal character, you could also flip that idea with the “treat” part also applying to them given their fairly docile nature in Pacifist route / flavor text-narrator theory shenanigans, and the “trick” being the fact that Frisk isn’t just Frisk.
