some Unovan Formes

I’ve got more on the way.

Unovan Mr. Mime -Dark/Fairy- “Mr. Mimes brought to Unova seem inexplicably drawn to the sewers. Populations living there have lost the ability to create invisible objects and force fields, but have developed many other strange powers, such as hyperflexible joints, the ability to climb sheer surfaces, and the ability to create colorful “balloons” made of mucus”

Unovan Igglybuff, Jigglypuff and Wigglytuff (sorry i don’t feel up to writting individual enries) normal/fairy, “Although they lack the sleep-inducing voices of their bretheren, their rubbery bodies are even more elastic and durable. They are popular among Unovan youth as television characters”

Unovan Poliwag-psychic- “This variant of Poliwag is a rare sight in Unova. However, people always seem to know when one is nearby due to their strange psychic powers.”

Unovan Poliwhirl– psychic-  “their telepathic abilities cause them to broadcast their emotions and the emotions of others. Somehow this has made these rare pokemon very popular in the region.”

Unovan Poliwrath– psychic- “Recently, evil organizations attempted to gain popularity by adopting this rare pokemon as their symbol. Due to the strange nature of its powers, which spread like a sort of mental virus, this backfired spectacularly.

Unovan Cacnea– grass- “Crossbreeding with local Maractus has made them more docile as well as more colorful, and they are popular as pets. They stuff themselves with loose straw in order to appear larger”

Unovan Cacturne– grass/fairy- “This domesticated breed of Cacturne is often employed by farmers to protect their crops. They silently patrol vast cornfields and repel invading pests and intruders.”

@titleknown

I want to speedrun Pokemon Bank.

This isn’t (totally) a joke. Let me back up by explaining that I have the Pokemon Colosseum bonus disc with Jirachi. It’s only compatible with Ruby and Sapphire, and only once per save file. Therefore, every time I want a Jirachi, I have to start a new game in Ruby, play until I get the Pokedex, download Jirachi, and then catch five junk Pokemon so I’ll have enough for the second leg of the journey.

This next step will be Pal Park in my Gen IV game of choice. Since the transferred Pokemon have to be found in a random encounter as part of the minigame, I need to hope the RNG is on my side. In addition, different species of Pokemon appear in different locations of the Pal Park. Although Mudkip is the optimal choice for a normal Ruby speedrun, it appears in arguably the least convenient Pal Park sub-area, at least in relation to where the other Pokemon I’d be transferring can be found. Since I’m only playing Ruby for ~10 minutes, Treecko or Torchic would most likely be better starter choices for this category.

The next step is to use Poke Transfer in Gen V. It’s a simple minigame that relies mainly on timing and pattern memorization, so not really anything worth talking about in depth. However, I do want to take this moment to point out that in all, I’ll be using four different systems for this run; in order to connect to Colosseum, I need to be playing Ruby on a system in the GBA family, and I then need to stick that cartridge in an original DS or DS Lite for Pal Park to work. Finally, I’d be using my 3DS as the second system during the Poke Transfer portion. None of this matters much if the run is measured strictly on in-game time, but if we used real time, the playing area itself would need to be optimized so that I can switch systems as efficiently as possible.

Finally, I use Poke Transporter to bring the Jirachi to Bank, and from there I can send the Jirachi to Sun/Moon.

And that is how I plan on doing a Pokemon Bank Jirachi% speedrun.
