hmmmm…. It’s mostly character design and lack of a XBX sequel instead? I’ve played the original for over 70 hours now and I really like the game, but it wraps up with no loose threads. XBX ends on a cliffhanger. Nuff’ said.

Also a lot of people I’ve been talking to dislike the art direction and character design. As someone who has spent a very large portion of the last few months studying the original, I can understand how the ‘generic anime’ approach could undermine some of the darker themes seen in both previous games.

It’s not like we were told we’re never getting an X sequel? Also X has only been out for less than two years, barely over a year for people outside of Japan. It still has life in it.

And it’s kind of presumptuous to judge a game by a trailer that’s less than two minutes long. I’m not a fan of the animu style either, but I know better than to judge something by its art style. Seems to me that people are being unreasonably resistant to change at best, and looking a gift horse in the mouth at worst.

He’s dropping in Dittos, just plain ol’ Dittos with nothing hugely amazing about them, and asking people for shit like Buzzwole. And he gets them, because he names these Dittos 6IV.
Bit of a dick move, huh?
Yeah. Think of all the kids out there who might want a 6 IV Ditto, because they just found out about how IVs work and can be passed down! They hop on the GTS, find a Ditto named 6 IV, and think “Hey, I can breed now!” They drop in something like Cosmog, Cosmoem, or a UB that might be a one time catch, and they can’t wait to get to breeding. Then they realize they got scammed into giving away a legendary for a near worthless Ditto.
And Verl*s praises this “strategy” as a sort of revenge against hackers and people who do Ditto giveaways.
Why can’t this man just disappear already?

also idk about any of the drama beyond what i’ve heard on skype, but apparently there’s some complaints that people who don’t/can’t use the discord chat are being left out? and i agree. i don’t feel comfortable in enormous group chats, and i’ve had some minor disagreements and altercations with some of the xcxdiscord regulars that make me especially unwilling to go back there. i’ve been able to kind of stay in the loop via the dirty confessions blog and my group chat on skype, but overall i’ve been feeling very left out. it’s why i took kind of a hiatus from the fandom over the past few months. like, nobody’s obligated to use communication platforms they dislike or talk to people they don’t really want to, but i do wish people outside of the discord could be more included without us needing to go outside our comfort zones, yeah?
