me: -respects myself enough to know that i shouldn’t have to fit into neurotypical society standards in order to be treated as a person with their own thoughts and feelings-
i know a guy who’s bought in entirely to microsoft’s ecosystem. he’s got a windows 10 computer, windows phone, uses microsoft edge, and has bing as his main search engine. he refers to looking things up on the internet as ‘binging’ it. very surreal, never met anyone else like that
the whole ‘discourse sideblog’ side of this site is just wild because its just a bunch of people searching every nook and cranny on this site for someone to argue with and then after a while liveblogging an anxiety attack or the aftermath of a depressive episode after getting a lot of bad anons and then….returning to step one to start it all over again. I can’t imagine what compels this. the rush of unloading all of your anger onto someone over an absolutely benign subject that doesn’t matter in real life can’t possibly surmount the amount of stress you’re putting yourself under by constantly going online to get angry.
hi yeah i found out recently that the popular caramelldansen (you know. the one you know.) is actually a fucking nightcore remix and this is the original
You ever notice that, in its figurative usage, fucking has a discernible bias against downward motion?
Like, you can be fucked up, and you can be fucked sideways, and while certainly you can be down to fuck (though here we’ve left the realm of the figurative), you can’t be fucked down.
You can get fucked over and fucked around, but you can’t get fucked under.
It’s striking to me because literal fucking often involves quite a lot of downward motion (at least if you’re doing it properly!), but in the figurative sphere it’s all up from here.
Tumblr’s “walking on eggshells” and “one strike, you’re out” mentality is really really immature.
Reblog if ya agree.
Another unpopular opinion:
The “You can apologize, beg for forgiveness, and change your ways all you want but it won’t change a thing cause you’re still horrible vile trash that deserves to die a fiery death” mentality is really harmful, scary, disgusting, and will probably get someone killed, be it by someone else’s hand or their own
yet another unpopular opinion: the ‘unproblematic fav’ mentality is really bad because you’re putting an individual up on a pedestal and treating them like a deity of sorts and forgetting that they too are human beings and make mistakes.
Another unpopular opinion: Not every mistake is the Worst Thing Ever. Sometimes people make small mistakes, and sometimes ignorance is a small mistake, and they do not need to grovel and beg and apologize perfectly because in the scheme of things it was a small mistake that didn’t even seriously hurt anyone, outside of tumblr’s performative moral outrage being offended.
im incredibly conflicted by the phrase ‘the question is not who will let me but who will stop me’ because on one hand its so fucking raw and powerful but on the other hand it’s derived from ayn rand but on yet another hand the first and primary time ive ever seen it was on a picture of a lawnmower flying through the sky which is the perfect level of absurd and nonsensical that would piss ayn rand off
