their other reason was that “the crewniverse inserts dumb anime references into everything except the stuff i think is stolen and that’s proof that it’s not their own work” you goddamn walnut do you not realize that’s how mood shifts work. people more often think up theories about the serious, plot-important stuff, and those scenes aren’t the time or place to insert silly references.
