tamagotchis are an old special interest of mine! any way i could help, possibly?

oh!! actually yeah ..

if u dont mind could you (or anyone) reply to this post with something you like about tamagotchis/virtual pet things in general?

pet games in general appeal to two of my basic interests, fantasy creatures and collecting. in the case of tamagotchis, since it’s one of those games where you can only raise one pet at a time, i ended up getting into collecting the actual devices. there’s hundreds of different models and case designs, and i wanted to get as many unique ones as possible. in games that don’t limit how many pets you can own, like most modern adoptable sites, i usually go for a “living dex” if possible, or at least completion of specific themed collections.

i also have a tendency to research any game i get into and learn the mechanics inside and out, and pet games often have complex systems due to the fact that they’re simulating living creatures. in the case of tamagotchis, the evolution path your pet follows is based on how well you care for it, and it’s usually harder to get the bad outcomes because you need to hit a particular balance between being a shitty owner and not killing your pet. it’s interesting to figure out optimal strategies to get a specific outcome. or other weird tricks, like how to activate debug mode in certain connection models.
