Are you making black and white issues a black and white issue?

No, and the fact that you and many, many other people have interpreted me that way kind of reinforces that there’s a problem here.

I wasn’t born yesterday. I know there are plenty of awful people in the world and plenty of issues where there are clear-cut good and bad sides. Calling for people to start recognizing that there are shades of grey does not eliminate black and white from the equation. It’s not an either-or thing. I kind of thought that was self-evident and didn’t require me to explicitly state it. Like, I’m pretty sure my wording was offering the necessary context clues.
