Carbunclo

Wanted to cover the carbuncle for a while now, but I couldn’t quite
find a look for a “small corncob with a bivalve shell” that worked for
me. Then again image-searching turns up a hideously generic cutesy
fluffy animal so at least that’s an improvement.

Why “carbunclo”
instead of “carbuncle”? I’ve been trying to go with the names they have
in the original language, and while carbuncle is more popular a word,
carbunclo is what it’s known as in S. America where the legend started.

All this time, all the mammalian “carbuncles” I’ve seen in RPG’s, and the original mythological version is a crawling land-clam!?!
