i’m trying to research what it’s actually like to be a psychopath, because i wanna get into my character’s head better, but i keep finding all these contradictory sources, and then of course you get the people who are basically saying “i’m not a psychopath but i still Know you’re spouting bullshit”, and i’m not sure how much authority ANY of these people have on the subject or if they’re even telling the truth, because you can be whoever the fuck you want to be on the internet. and it’s not like psychopaths get a whole lot of respect from most people either, so of course there’s all kinds of people who use the word psychopath to basically mean “someone who was an especially huge asshole to me”, and people who call themselves psychopaths simply because they’re proud of being assholes, and fuck it i’m trying to get rid of my ableist misconceptions here.

i just wanted to clear up any misinformation i may have read, but i feel like i’m even more confused now
