hey, how about we stop vilifying people for being hesitant to accept violence as a means of resolving conflict? i’ve been there, and i can guarantee that in most cases it’s less “buuuuuh what did the nazis do to deserve this” and more just the fact that some people have such a deep-seated opposition to violence that it’s hard for them to accept it even when they know the target is a disgusting human being. hate to break it to ya, but cognitive dissonance is practically inevitable for these people, and it’s unrealistic to expect them to immediately have a change of heart. if the person refuses to ever change or consider opposing arguments, that’s one thing, but we really should be giving people a chance to learn before jumping on them.
