ahahaha which one

  • So in Sun and Moon, we get Apricorn balls again, which is awesome. We only get one of each per save file, which is not awesome. The Heavy Ball has a very interesting catch rate modifier, in that it will decrease the catch rate if used on a Pokémon that weighs less than 451.5 lbs (204.8 kg). There’s a Pokémon called Beldum that weighs around 210 lbs and has a base catch rate of 3, which is the lowest a Pokémon can possibly have. Because it’s so relatively light, using a Heavy Ball on it takes the catch rate even lower than that. There isn’t a simplified catch rate calculator for Sun/Moon yet, so I can’t give an exact chance of success, but people have made hundreds, even thousands of attempts without catching a Heavy Ball Beldum. Breeders are making absolutely absurd offers for one, with the caveat that the trader needs to provide photographic evidence that the Beldum was caught legitimately. Heavy Ball Beldum is serious fucking business.
  • Damn, how do I top that? I don’t think I can.
  • The Sun/Moon artbook confirms that the games take place 2 years after XY/B2W2.
  • The protagonists of Sun/Moon don’t have official names, but datamining suggests that at some point, the male was going to be Kai and the female was going to be Lana.
  • Marshadow, like many other Alola Pokémon, is based on Hawaiian mythology.
