Let’s take a moment to talk about this image. To put it frankly, I find it beautiful and entrancing. The animation is so fluid, the character’s expression are so evocative and it’s as if you can feel what they’re feeling. Their are some many artists who do animation on tumblr, but I don’t think any of them, while all great, have reached this level of a excellence.

I’ve seen Ghibli and Disney films and I consider them to be the top of animation. Yet, this image is challenging them both. It wasn’t made with a million dollar budget, this was just a few artists who got together because they wanted to make an animation that really spoke for them. It’s a work of love. A true work of love. And work that reminds me of a childhood event from when I was child.

When, I was younger, I loved to skateboard. I would zip up and down the street like a regular Buzz Lightyear. The kids used to call me Skatey because I never stopped skating. I never took it as an insult, I love that stupid name. The problem is, I’m still skating now. I bought a skateboard from an enchantress. I should’ve listened to my friend’s cries, I should’ve ignored her. I can’t stop my skateboard and I am going to die. I am so afraid, but I will die with this image on my mind. Not because of the work that went into it, but because I LOVE TAILS.
