21p discourse is interesting because the biggest, most common go-to defense i see is “but they’re mentally ill” as if that protects the band from all criticism, as if that suddenly makes it morally wrong for me to say they’re the musical equivalent of stale bread. i’m gonna start making boring art and tell people they can’t criticize me because it’s my coping method. it may very well be, but it’s still boring art and people would have the right to tell me that.
