one of my favorite anecdotes about myself that is extremely humiliatingly telling about my personality is that like a year ago I was cooling w @beecreeper eating some potato dish for dinner and I remarked “don’t you hate the potato sweats… When you eat potatoes and your face gets all hot and red and you feel all swollen” and she’s like “um? that doesn’t happen to people that sounds like mild anaphylactic shock…?”
that’s the story of how it took me 20+ years of living in denial before realizing I was allergic to potatoes… I have not stopped eating them
